Jottacloud

Transferring large amounts of data is quite easy nowadays, thanks to cloud storage services. A good example is Jottacloud. It comes with the same functionality you would expect from most cloud services, but it comes with its own advantages as well. You can use it to back up data and keep it safe, share it with your contacts, collaborate on large projects and more.

Jottacloud provides you with 5 GB of free storage space and you can get more if you pay a monthly subscription. Downloading and installing the software is a straight forward process and it doesn't take long too long. You will need to create an online account, but you can skip this step if you have a Norman Personal Backup account.

Once the application is installed on your computer, you can use the Norman Personal Backup username and password to log in. If you have used other cloud services before, than Jottacloud's functionality will seem familiar. The program will create a sync folder on your hard drive, in which you can store the data you wish to upload to the cloud. The files you store will be uploaded automatically, in the same folders structure, without the need for any further user input.

Uploaded data can be accessed on a web-based user interface, on any browser. You can generate share links for your files and send them to your contacts, invite people to collaborate in share folders, so they don't have to wait for share links and so on. Any changes you make in your local Jottacloud or on the web will be made automatically on the other side.

Besides its familiar functionality, Jottacloud comes with other useful features. The most important one is the possibility of scheduling automatic backups. The software lets you back up entire folders manually, but it can also be set to back them up according to a time table which you can define yourself.
